Sandy is a Managing Director of Petra Capital Properties and a Registered Representative of Patrick Capital Markets. He is responsible for marketing the Company’s securitized DST/1031 Exchange offerings throughout the western Continental US. Working with his network of sponsors and Petra’s independently assembled DST programs, Sandy provides personalized investment solutions that are designed to be optimized to meet each investor’s risk tolerance and investment objectives. He continues to drive the Company’s growth and success through strategic relationships with national DST sponsors, Qualified Intermediaries, CPA’s and tax attorneys, and the broker-dealer and registered investment advisor communities.
Sandy brings a unique perspective to 1031 exchange investors, having held senior management positions with several national investment management firms, acquiring deep experience in the real estate securitization process. He has served in senior executive roles for some of the country’s leading non-traded REIT and 1031/DST sponsors, including: Nelson Partners Student Housing, Provasi Capital Partners, and Griffin Capital. Sandy has managed all aspects of real estate securities offerings and product development, including structuring of Private Placement Offering memorandums, sales and marketing, and investor relations.
Sandy entered the retail financial services industry in 1980. Over his 40-plus year career, he has placed more than $4.5 Billion in public funds and private placements, including nearly $200 Million DST-structured fractional exchange programs.
Sandy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Studies from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He maintains FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, and has conducted numerous speaking engagements and real estate seminars. He and his wife Sarita reside in Scottsdale, Arizona and have three adult children, and six grandchildren. In his private time, Sandy enjoys playing the guitar, engaging in scripophily, photography, and sailing.
