Jeff is a Managing Director of Petra Capital Properties and Registered Representative of Saxony Securities, Inc. He brings national level leadership and organizational experience from a 30-year career as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Jeff specializes in highly diversified and personalized 1031 tax deferred exchange strategies for accredited investors as well as asset based giving solutions for philanthropic organizations and their donors.

Jeff’s customized investment solutions are designed to match personal investment goals with high-quality diversified property portfolios, focused on capital preservation and passive (tax efficient) income. His real estate securities offerings and areas of specialized focus include: 1031-approved Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs), Qualified Opportunity Zones (QOZs), private Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and other alternative investment strategies. Working with Managing Director John Bishop, Jeff brings additional experience in non-profit strategies including donor advised funds, planned giving, and other charitable giving initiatives.

A native of East Texas, Jeff graduated from Texas A&M University in Agriculture Economics and holds master’s degrees in National Security and Strategy. During his Marine Corps career, he completed multiple deployments overseas including battalion command in Afghanistan. He commanded the Marines recruiting the Southeastern United States and served as the Senior Marine Representative at the United States Naval Academy.

Jeff holds FINRA Series 63 and 22 licenses. He serves on the Board of Directors for Patrol Base Abbate, a non-profit supporting the veteran community. He is also a member of Tun Tavern Fellowship, a faith-based organization for Marine officers. He is married with three sons and enjoys real estate, the outdoors, coastal fishing, and a family timber farm.
